Capturing Demographic Data at Public Meetings and Hearings
01/09/19
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT), Office of Contract Compliance, is looking for information to assist in the development of an improved process to capture demographic data (race/income/Language) of public meeting and/or public hearing attendees. We are very interested in what creative processes and best practices other State DOTs are using to collect this data.
We are looking for responses from anyone responsible for planning/holding public informational meetings or hearings such as Civil Rights Personnel, Engineering Personnel, Planning Personnel etc.
The following questions were asked as part of this survey:
Are you currently capturing demographic data such as race, income and/or language of public meeting and/or public hearing attendees; and if so, what is the process?
Can we follow up with any additional questions? If so, please provide contact information.
