The ABG30 TRB Technology Transfer Research Needs Subcommittee sent out this survey to inquire further on the extent of technology transfer planning efforts in State DOTs. Results were analyzed by comparing between responses from consulting/non-profit research/academics and State DOTs.
This survey is intended to answer questions regarding whether technology transfer language appears in contracting and procurement, and the extent to which technology transfer is incorporated into various components of each state's research program. Results will be used to shape future research needs associated with technology transfer that may include performance measures for technology transfer, technology transfer within contracts and procurement, and other potential directions in research.
The audience for this survey includes researchers in consulting, non-profit, and academic transportation research organizations, as well as State DOTs and research program managers responsible for administering such programs as University Transportation Centers and state SPR funds.
